The Gift of Willingness

The Gift of Willingness is God’s story of redemption in my life. How he intentionally met me in my lowest place and asked me “Do you want to be made well?” The truth is, we must all answer this question for ourselves if we are going to follow Jesus. Willingness is the key to walking in the promises of God. Without it, we remain stuck in self-reliance, justification, and rebellion. We must be willing to lay down our idols and follow Him.

Willingness changes the trajectory of our lives. King David said, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit.” (Psalm 51: 12)

He asked for the gift of willingness.

When Jesus came to the man lying on his mat, He asked him “Do you want to be made well?” By God’s grace, he was ready to change. “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” (John 5:18)

Willingness enables us to walk by faith.
